About
The trail (01)
Grew up in Kremenchuk, a flat city near the Dnipro river
Now I spend most of the year in the Carpathians, above the treeline, waiting for the light
At nineteen I went to the Carpathians for the first time, with a friend’s old film camera and one roll of film. Thirty-six frames, almost all of them wrong
One wasn’t. A ridge in morning fog, taken by accident while I stopped to catch my breath. I’ve been chasing that morning ever since

The trail (02)
I was born among the Poltava steppes
where the land runs flat all the way to the sky. The first time I saw the Carpathians, I fell in love for good
The steppe taught me to look at the horizon. The mountains taught me to wait for it. Landscape is how I bring that feeling back down with me – no composites, no borrowed skies, only what was there
